The Official Launch of the Amaris Institute of Statistics and Economic Research, Accra Ghana

On July 4, 2024, the Director General, Hon. Richard Fatorma Ngafuan, traveled to the Republic of Ghana to attend the Launch of the Amaris Institute of Statistics and Economic Research in Accra Ghana. At the launch, the Director-General of LISGIS made a presentation on the Strategy, Success, and challenges faced by LISGIS as an institution operating in Liberia. The DG mentioned the conduct of the Agriculture Census and the 2022 National Population and Housing Census Validation and the Preparation for the Conduct of the House Income and Expenditure Survey as a major success since he took on the Leadership of LISGIS.

At the same time, the Director General outlines the lack of competent staff in the area of Data analysis, and report writing as a major blow to the institution, and calls on partners to help in these areas. The Amaris Institute is established to assist Statistical Institutions in West African anglophone Countries with the capacity development of staff working in various institutions in member countries. The launching program in the Movenpick hotel in Accra brought together heads of Statistical Institutions from Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia Sierra Leone, and the Gambia.
