Four-Day Technical Retreat Focuses on Data Quality, Statistical Reporting and Collaboration
Held at K-PLAZA Hotel from December 17–20, 2025, the retreat brings together 35 technical staff and representatives from partner government institutions for technical discussions, data review, and capacity-building activities.
A major focus of the retreat is the review and finalization of key statistical products, including the Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES), Consumer Price Index (CPI), National Accounts, and Trade Statistics. Participants are also strengthening their skills in data validation, quality assurance, statistical analysis, and reporting.
In addition to reviewing statistical outputs, participants are examining the LISGIS 2026 Annual Work Plan to ensure planned activities align with national priorities and that statistical methodologies are better coordinated across operations.
The retreat also provides an opportunity for LISGIS and its partner Ministries, Agencies and Commissions (MACs) to strengthen collaboration and improve how statistical information is produced, presented, and used.
By the conclusion of the retreat, LISGIS expects to have validated statistical outputs, a costed 2026 Annual Work Plan, and a clear framework for follow-up and quality monitoring.
The initiative forms part of LISGIS's broader efforts to strengthen the quality, timeliness, and reliability of official statistics and ensure statistical information is used more effectively to support evidence-based planning, policymaking, and development in Liberia.
