The Agricultural economy is mostly subsistence and less monetized. We observed that one third (30.2 %) of the total households in Liberia are agricultural households, most of which are rural residents. There are slightly more males than females in these households, and about 0.5 % of the agricultural population lives with at least one form of disability.

The results show that 534,316 Liberians live with a functional disability. That is 8.7 per cent of the population 5 years and above have some difficulty in performing activities and 2.7 per cent of the population have a lot of disability/cannot perform the activities at all in at least one domain. These domains include seeing, hearing, walking, remembering, self-care ..

Children residing in rural areas, well known for relatively higher incidence of poverty, are more likely not to go to school, and when they do, are likely to have lower educational attainments. Similarly, counties that have higher proportions of their population living in urban settlements such as Montserrado (91.7 per cent), Maryland (61.5 per cent) and Margibi (55.9 per cent) ..

Liberia Agriculture Census, 2022/2023

The Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture with funding from the World Bank and technical Support from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), will be conducting an Agriculture Census in all the 15 Counties of Liberia between January and March 2024.


The Liberia Agriculture Census is the first to be conducted in Liberia and will use digital technology. The census will cover all Agriculture-related activities such as crop production, livestock rearing, forestry, poultry, and Aqua Culture. It will target all Agricultural establishments, including households, smallholder farmers, commercial and private farmers, and Agro-Industrial Companies.

Trade Statistics - Annual Report 2021

This Report Covers Exports and Imports data for the period January to December 2021. The Total Export (FOB) for the Period under review amounted to $ 171,699,004.56 USD as indicated in table 1.1 below. Amongst the various months, In September, more commodities were exported whereas less commodities were exported in the month of April 2021.

Industrial Statistics - June 2025

The year-on-year inflation rate for Liberia for June 2025 was 9.9%, 1.8 percentage point lower than the previous month. The month’s YoY inflation rate is the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of June 2025 and June 2024. The inflation rate increased by 3.7 percentage points from June 2024. The month-on-month inflation in June 2025 was 0.4%. The MoM inflation rate in May 2025 was 0.2%.
