One-Day ECO-ICBT Data collection Validation workshop

The Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) has launched an initiative to collect data on Informal Cross-Border Trade (ICBT). This effort aims to capture trade activities that often bypass formal regulatory frameworks, including goods and services that evade taxation and other official procedures set by the Liberian government. Such informal trade can go unrecorded or be inaccurately reflected in national statistics. As part of this initiative, a one-day stakeholder consultation on ECOWAS Informal Cross-Border Data Collection is being held in Monrovia. This workshop aims to ensure Liberia’s preparedness to collect ICBT data. It is crucial for all stakeholders to share their insights on this initiative. The event is at the Royal Grand Hotel in Monrovia on July 25, 2024.
